Technology

Current technology allows contactless binocular distance monitoring of eye movements and pupil size. I4Tracking® works at a high frame rate to capture movements very sensitive. For some applications, however, it may be preferable to develop an earlier solution for a spectacle tracker that records the scene being viewed with the recording of eye views.

We have many years of experience in developing the technology [see the publication]. Which has been accompanied by many blind paths, but it allows us to deliver tailor-made solutions according to customer requirements with precisely defined parameters and records in the form of measured outputs.
The system is primarily designed to monitor the task being solved on a computer monitor under which a measuring camera is located. This monitor performs the initial calibration of the person’s view, and then the measurement output is an image recording with a highlight of the field under consideration. Tasks are usually prepared directly for eye movement testing, so it is possible to perform an automatic evaluation based on the definition of monitoring of the respective zones or the defined course of the eye movements. In addition to the position the observer is observing, we are also able to measure pupil size changes (in this case, the experiment needs to be prepared with regard to possible effects on pupil changes – brightness, color, …).
In addition to this standard design, we are able to deliver a solution for monitoring external objects located in the space above the measuring camera, which is recorded with an additional webcam. The evaluation is then video scenes with highlighting the track you are tracking.

Function description

Videookulography is a method based on eye pupil scanning using the physical properties of IR reflectance. The eye is illuminated and its movement is detected by a high-frequency camera. To process this record, an algorithm from an experienced computer vision company, Eyedea, is used to detect the eye in the record, and then performs mathematical transformations to interpret the view and pupillometry.
